* * Refresher Workshop - Group Delivery

Who is it for?
Practitioners who have already done PEEP for Practitioners training - and would now value further practical support with some aspects of group delivery (whether or not you have started a PEEP group).

Content:
The course will cover, from a practical point of view:

  • Working with parents and children together
  • Delivery strategies for core group activities:
    • Singing, story-time and activity ideas, props and handouts – please bring any you have found useful and would be willing to share
    • Talk time/ adult discussion (ways to both value what families already do and share relevant child development information)
  • Understanding how using the ORIM framework can support work with families
  • Planning and preparation – including adapting session plans to meet local needs
  • Recruiting families - including isolated families
  • Exploring your own work in group sessions and building on your existing practice - sharing successes, challenges and ideas, and discussing clips from a DVD of a PEEP group

The course is intended to answer YOUR questions, so we will make sure there is plenty of time to spend on the aspects that are most important to you.
Please complete and return the Preferences form below with your booking form, so our trainers can tailor the course to delegates' requirements.

Outcomes for the workshop
By the end of the day participants will have:

  • engaged in a variety of activities encouraging you to reflect on your own practice and recognise your own strengths and areas for development;
  • identified, discussed and practised the skills practitioners need to engage in positive relationships with families;
  • enhanced your understanding and increased your range of strategies and ideas to support parents with their children’s learning and development.

As other delegates have pointed out, the skills and knowledge covered during PEEP training are relevant to many other aspects of their work with families.

Feedback

  • "This should be offered as standard one year after training."
  • "I feel massively reassured that it’s not the hardest thing in the world to deliver and it has inspired me again to really use PEEP.  I also now feel comfortable in tailoring PEEP to my needs."
  • "I would definitely recommend this workshop to anyone who is PEEP trained but hasn’t delivered it for a while/or at all, or feels unconfident about any aspects of PEEP."
  • "Great to remind, refresh and question from experience of running PEEP groups."
  • "This workshop has really helped to give me more confidence and knowledge to deliver PEEP programmes."

What is the cost and how do I book?
