Songs and rhymes are a central element in the PEEP programme. They can assist language development and they help to make learning fun. The songs used in the PEEP programme have been recorded on CD, and the words are given in the songbooks. The songbooks also contain ideas for actions, and notes about how the songs support children's development. Getting familiar with with the songs at home often increases parents'/carers' confidence about singing in groups.
- There is a Singing Together songbook and CD for very young children (birth to two) and another for slightly older children (three to five).
- The Welcome Tape - a tape of 12 gentle songs with a card giving the words and some information about PEEP - may be especially suitable for very young babies.
