An important part of PEEP's role is to promote research in the field of educating children and supporting families. There is a dynamic relationship between research into aspects of PEEP and the delivery and development of our Learning Together programme that we offer to families. Research findings can offer new insights for practitioners around the country, while new ways of delivering the PEEP programme continue to be evaluated. Our research principles can be downloaded below.

Four formal research studies on PEEP have been carried out by the University of Oxford:

Our PEEP Research Series contains summaries of these studies. The summaries range from 4-16 pages, and contain photos. They can be downloaded as PDFs by following the links above. We will continue to add further studies to the series.

Current research projects
Time to Play was a participatory action research project that ran from April 2008 - March 2009, led by Dr Susan Young of the University of Exeter and PEEP. The project's findings, including information on practical activities for practitioners to try in their own settings, will be published here in the near future.

Our Early Explorers research project, examining integrated working between PEEP practitioners and health professionals, is running for two years from April 2009. It is being led by Professor Jane Barlow of the University of Warwick and PEEP.
