Birth to Three Matters Framework The Framework is designed for those whose role it is to care for other people's children (eg childminders and child care staff). The PEEP curriculum is linked to the Birth to Three Matters Framework, where they enrich and support each other. This can be seen on the Birth to Three Matters Framework CD Rom.
Sure Start and Children's Centres PEEP is embedded in many Sure Start and Children's Centres' programmes. PEEP aims and materials mesh with Sure Start Local Programme Objectives.
Using the PEEP Learning Together Programme and materials can contribute towards all the Sure Start objectives:
- The PEEP focus on very early communication generates a range of social, emotional, and learning outcomes.
- The emphasis on self-concept and on closely observing children contributes to outcomes relating to health (including mental health).
- Many users of the PEEP Learning Together programme find that its approach (as outlined in the PEEP principles) and its flexibility enable them to deliver in a way that benefits both families and the community.
- Shared principles about work coupled with a holistic approach to families encourage partnership work across many disciplines (eg play workers, speech and language therapists and health visitors).
Curriculum Guidance for the Foundation Stage The PEEP programme contains strong links with the 'stepping stones' to the Early Learning Goals in the 'Curriculum Guidance for the Foundation Stage: guidance used by practitioners working in settings with 3 to 5 year olds'.
Further detail about the ways in which PEEP links to other frameworks is included in the 'PEEP for Practitioners' training course. |
