| The DfES is funding the Early Learning Partnership Project (ELPP) until March 2008. There are three strands to the project. Strand 1 focuses on delivery, strand 2 on evaluation and strand 3 on workforce development (training). A number of voluntary sector organisations, including PEEP, are working in partnership to deliver support in strand 1. They will demonstrate different approaches to identifying and engaging parents of children aged 1-3 who are at risk of learning delay, and support them to get involved in their child's early learning. The focus will be on parents who may not understand the value of their role in their child's early learning, or would not know how to get involved.
PEEP is also involved in strand 3. PEEP for Practitioners (PfP) training is being funded as part of the workforce development element of the ELPP. The training will enhance skills in the workforce to build effective partnerships with parents to support their involvement in their child's early learning. Some of the funding is being used to:
- deliver PfP training around the country to consolidate and develop delivery of the PEEP programme;
- support PfP Extended training.
Funding for PEEP for Practitioners Extended training PfP Extended is a further day of training following on from PfP, which leads to university accreditation. We are offering ELPP-funded places to practitioners who are engaged in PEEP work with families. The training will take place in Oxford and elsewhere around the country.
