The PEEP Learning Together programme has been delivered to families in south Oxford since it began there in 1995. It has also continued to develop over that time, and there are now various ways of delivering PEEP. The PEEP programme is being widely used around the UK by people who work with parents/carers and young children.

Open access PEEP sessions are generally focussed on making contact with families. They tend to happen in places where families already go, such as child health clinics.

Home visits may be made soon after a baby’s birth. They explore how parents and carers could use PEEP materials to support their child’s learning at home. Families can also be invited to attend PEEP sessions or to use other forms of support available in their area.

Home programmes can be organised for families who would benefit from a one-to-one approach. The family and practitioner agree which topics to cover and how many weeks the programme should last.

Talking time in a baby groupPEEP group sessions are generally run weekly for parents and carers to attend with their children. Some groups are universal, for all local parents/carers. Others are focussed PEEP Plus groups.

Comprehensive, flexible access activities enable a range of support to be provided in the same venue at the same time. Room to play, for instance, offers play activities and support for families in a local shopping centre.
